Hi, my name is Michael, I'm a wonkaholic.
Today's wonk is about the tragedy in Florida. I watched,or tried to watch, a young girl interviewed about how she and a friend hid in terror as the "shooter" murdered their friends.  I've seen that terror in a young girls eyes close up.The terror that says"Please God, what is happening". No life-respecting human being could inflict that on another human, much less a child. This is what the city of Danville is trying to label me as, a potential "shooter". And I'm ready to call B.S.!!  I not that kind of person and I intend to prove it.

As for the "young peoples' movement it has spawned, let me say Right On! Power To The People! Groovy! Please Don't Eat The Brown Acid! ....(oops I think that last one was a "flashback"..... Back to the kids, Maybe, just maybe, this time people will listen. I'm already looking for ways I can support them, If you know of something, let me know. If you think of something DO IT!
One of the other stories trending is the Olympics. I have a renewed respect for the Olympics since they declared disc sports as a bona fide sport and cleared the way for future consideration as an Olympic sport. It will likely be Ultimate and disc golf, google them or both can be seen on display here in Danville. Back to a wonks-eye view of the games. As you might expect it's about the geopolitics of it foor me.Vice President Pence showed up at the opening ceremonies to say he was there to make sure the games weren't hijacked for political purposes and then proceeded to do exactly that. Seeing that he was outnumbered by 125 North Korean cheerleaders and that cute little sister of Kim Jung Un, he quick hightailed it home and was replaced by Trumps Daughter-Wife-First Lady to smile and laugh at the closing ceremonies. Lame and Obvious. All in all not a good showing for the USA. Now the only thing left is to decide who gets invited to the White House and who will decline their invitation.
I would be remiss if I didn't reveal something about myself that many people don't know about me one of the goals of this blog is for people to know me better, here goes: I was married and devorced twice before I was twenty-five. Make no mistake, Jeannette is my third wife but we were always meant to be. She was the first girl I ever took on an official “date”. I had to have dinner with her family before she was allowed to go out with me. We walked the few blocks to the local high school for a sock-hop held in the gym. Ten years of turmoil later we remet never to be un-met again. Just so you know.
